Another HMDotInfo Exclusive:
The Harry Potter / Haunted Mansion Connection
It seems there are at least two indirect links between our favorite Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World and the remarkably popular Harry Potter series of books.
Thanks to HMDotInfo fan surfgirl42 for pointing out the mythical beast that forms the base of the bannister (near the Haunted Piano) is actually a hippogriff, which features predominantly in the third Harry Potter book, "Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban." Take a look for yourself at the bannister and the cover of the book!
From the Vanity Fair photo shoot for the film "Harry Potter & the Sorceror's Stone," here we see Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) sitting in front of the "Taste" tapestry from the Cluny Museum "Lady and the unicorn" series of medieval tapestries, named after the senses. Within the Haunted Mansion, we see the Bride of the Attic standing in front of the "Touch" tapestry in this series (see pic on right.)
An excellent shot can be seen of the "Taste" tapestry here , where you can also purchase replicas of this, and the Bride tapestry, for your own home.
